What Joy We Will Experience [Isaiah 23-24]

Isaiah 24

13For thus it will be in the midst of the earth among the peoples,
         As the shaking of an olive tree,
         As the gleanings when the grape harvest is over.
    14They raise their voices, they shout for joy;
         They cry out from the west concerning the majesty of the LORD.
    15Therefore glorify the LORD in the east,
         The name of the LORD, the God of Israel,
         In the coastlands of the sea.
    16From the ends of the earth we hear songs, "Glory to the Righteous One,"

21So it will happen in that day,
         That the LORD will punish the host of heaven on high,
         And the kings of the earth on earth.
    22They will be gathered together
         Like prisoners in the dungeon,
         And will be confined in prison;
         And after many days they will be punished.
    23Then the moon will be abashed and the sun ashamed,
         For the LORD of hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem,
         And His glory will be before His elders.

The glory of God will be so bright that it will put the sun and moon to shame.  What a thought to ponder today.  When finally sin is absent from this world "the LORD of hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem," and we will see His full glory.  We will see Him exactly as He is, with nothing clouding the picture.  We will see His justice and His love and how it works together.  We will see His sovereignty and His appreciation for our free will and how they are both true of His character.  All our questions about His character will be completely answered.  What we have had glimpses of on earth will be in full array.

The more I get to know Him in His word, the more I want to know Him more fully.  That will happen and when it does I will raise my voice and "shout for joy." In that day, "from the ends of the earth we hear songs, 'Glory to the Righteous One.'"

We praise You God, the Righteous One, that You will reign.  We praise You that we will know You fully in that day and that Your glory will be before us. You are majestic.
