1"When you go out to battle against your enemies and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt, is with you.
2"When you are approaching the battle, the priest shall come near and speak to the people.
3"He shall say to them, 'Hear, O Israel, you are approaching the battle against your enemies today. Do not be fainthearted. Do not be afraid, or panic, or tremble before them,
4for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.'
Every time they went into a battle, a priest came out and reminded the troops that God was going to fight for them and not to be afraid or panic. As I spend time in God's Word and prayer in the morning, God prepares me for the battles for that day. I am reminded that He has fought and won the most difficult battle of all for me and that He is with me to protect and guide and fight for me. Battles are still battles and I don't like them, but even the big ones are not so daunting with my focus on our great God going before me.
I don't know what your battles are, but I do know that if you are God's child, He is right there with You and will be there with you whether you take time to read His Word and pray or not. How much better you will feel, however, when you take the time to rest in His presence as you enter into the battles of your day.
