Who Was Jesus? [John 1]
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.2He was in the beginning with God. 3All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
John's gospel continues to be my (Beth) favorite book of the Bible because John was the one disciple who really understood that Jesus loved Him and freely received the intimacy that came with that divine love. Using seven of Christ's miracles, John not only told Jesus' story, but also showed how the Father, the Spirit and Jesus work together as One. Here in the opening verses, he lifted Jesus up and showed Him to not only be a special person, but that Jesus was God. In these four verses, he spoke volumes about His beloved Jesus.

I praise you God for manifesting your character through Jesus here on the earth to be my life and my light. Cause me to walk by Your grace in the power of His life and light.
