Give Thanks To God! [2 Corinthians 2]

14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. 15 For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; 16 to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life And who is adequate for these things? 17 For we are not like many, peddling the word of God, but as from sincerity, but as from God, we speak in Christ in the sight of God.

Most of 2 Corinthians 2 addressed the issue of the immoral man from 1 Corinthians 5. In the first letter to the Corinthians, Paul directed them to remove the immoral man from the congregation. In 2 Corinthians 2, Paul further guided the church at Corinth in how to deal with that man so that he would not be "overwhelmed by excessive sorrow." He directed them to forgive that man's sins, comfort and love him. Paul even explained that without forgiveness, they could be taken advantage of by Satan.

Then, Paul concluded the chapter with a description of who we are as a body of Christ. Take a few moment to digest the truths listed. Let them sink deep into your heart.

In Christ
God leads His church in triumph in Christ
He manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place
We are a fragrance of Christ to God to those around us
He makes us adequate for these things
He enables us to speak in Christ in the sight of God from sincerity

Thanks be to God!
