Lamb's Book of Life [Revelation 13]

8 All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb's book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world. 9 Whoever has ears, let them hear.10 "If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity they will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword they will be killed." This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God's people.

Being ready for the things written in Revelation has been on the hearts and minds of believers for a very long time. Still no one knows when it will happen. Yesterday, I was considering what impact these words would have on me if I was seeing them played out on CNN. My thoughts were that they would become my safe haven in the midst of a storm instead of the series of frightening things they are for me today. However, I still can take great peace this morning from the fact that my name is in the Lamb's book of life and that God will supply all of the patient endurance and faithfulness I will need if I have to live through these things.

We praise You God that You know all things and have all of history under Your Sovereign control. Cause us to know You and trust that You will supply all that we will need to stand firm and take action and to be ready to give insight and understanding to those who don't know You or Your Word (Daniel 11:32-33).
