God Made A Way Where There Was No Way [Exodus 29]

42"It shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the doorway of the tent of meeting before the LORD, where I will meet with you, to speak to you there.

43"I will meet there with the sons of Israel, and it shall be consecrated by My glory.

44"I will consecrate the tent of meeting and the altar; I will also consecrate Aaron and his sons to minister as priests to Me.

45"I will dwell among the sons of Israel and will be their God.

46"They shall know that I am the LORD their God who brought them out of the land of Egypt, that I might dwell among them; I am the LORD their God.

God set up an elaborate system of animal sacrifice for ordaining His priests and for daily morning and evening continual offerings so that He could dwell with His people and be their God. Since the fall with Adam and Eve, many generations before, there was no way for God to remain among people. Through this tabernacle, the ministering priests and the sacrifices, God made a way to dwell with them where previously there was no way. And now we know the end of the story, that God was foreshadowing an even better way through Jesus, the ultimate perfect sacrifice, tabernacle and high priest!

God, we praise You that You made a way for You to dwell with us, not just among us, but in us through Jesus' life, death and resurrection. Cause us to pause and consider today what a huge gift that was and to keep looking to You today filled with Your grace and overflowing with gratitude and love.
