God's Ark Concealed [Numbers 4]

 5"When the camp sets out, Aaron and his sons shall go in and they shall take down the veil of the screen and cover the ark of the testimony with it;

I love it when I see something that startles me in the Scriptures. The Word is so pregnant with meaning and my mind so tiny, that it happens a lot even though I have read and reread these passages many times over the years. Today I realized that the people did not get to see the Ark of the Covenant as they were taking down the tabernacle and getting ready to move. In all of the movies I remember, I have seen the Ark displayed in plain view of the people. And so I guess that is what I assumed happened in the Bible. Not so!!!

The Ark was apparently so holy that only Aaron and his sons could see it. No one in the community could look at the Ark without dying including the other Levites who ministered in the tabernacle.
It's so perfect that the Ark was covered with the veil that represented the torn body of Christ. Therefore, as they traveled, the symbol of the torn body of Christ protected them from God's holy presence.

Thank You, God for Your perfect Word that continues to reveal all the ways You have loved and cared for us through the ages. Thank You that it all fits together as an awesome picture of our Jesus who loved us so much that He died for us. Cause us to be in awe of You and to increasingly desire to draw near to You in the Word and prayer and in fellowship with other believers.

Your work is extremely valuable, particularly due to the fact that it is so significant and up to date, which is one of the reasons why it is so useful. https://retro-goal.com/ Another reason why it is so useful is that it is quite relevant.
